Case Study - Corporate Client

Chris, an Auckland based importer, needed to buy US$75,000 in exchange for New Zealand Dollars to pay for products purchased from his supplier in China.

Chris called his bank and received a NZD/USD rate of 0.6250, resulting in a New Zealand Dollar cost of NZ$ 120,000. The bank also wanted to charge a NZ$15 fee.

Chris then called NZForex and asked for a rate for him to buy US$75,000 in exchange for New Zealand Dollars. NZForex quoted a NZD/USD rate of 0.6288 resulting in a New Zealand Dollar cost of NZ$119,332 and there was no fee to pay.

Chris saved: NZ$668 on the rate
NZ$12 on the fee
NZ$680 TOTAL

 

Case Study - Private Client

 

After having just moved from the UK to New Zealand, Andrew was awaiting the proceeds from the sale of his house in the UK which he sold for £210,000.

Andrew called his UK bank and was offered a GBP/NZD rate of 2.0680 to sell £210,000 and buy New Zealand Dollars, meaning he would receive NZ$538,440. The bank also wanted to charge a GBP30 fee (approximately NZ$70).

Andrew then called NZForex and asked for a rate for him to sell £210,000 in exchange for New Zealand Dollars. NZForex quoted a GBP/NZD rate of 2.6000 meaning he would receive NZ$546,000 and there was no fee to pay.

Andrew saved: NZ$7,560 on the rate
NZ$70 on the fee
NZ$7,630 TOTAL
